Photo resizer
Make photos smaller in size and dimensions — for email, WhatsApp or a form with an upload limit. Your photos are resized right on your device, and the hidden location data is left out.
Handy for government portals and forms with an upload limit.
How it works
- 1Add your photosAs many as you like — they stay on your device.
- 2Pick a sizeOr set a limit like 500 KB for a form.
- 3DownloadOne by one, or all together in a ZIP.
Smaller photos, without the catch
Phone photos are often 4–8 MB — too big to email, and over the limit on many upload forms. Pick a size, and every photo is resized and saved again on your device. Online “compressors” usually upload your pictures to their servers first; here, they never leave your phone or computer.
For the technical folks
Images are decoded with createImageBitmap (honouring the EXIF orientation), scaled down in halving steps for sharpness, and re-encoded with canvas.toBlob — which writes no EXIF, so location and camera data are dropped. The size limit uses a quick binary search on quality, then shrinks the dimensions if it still doesn’t fit.
